Nickel alloys are metals that contain large amounts of nickel for the purpose of increasing the level of resistance to corrosion and heat-induced weakness or softening. Sandmeyer Steel Company houses an extensive inventory of nickel alloy plate in a variety of thicknesses and additionally provides a wide variety of value added processes for manufacturing an exact nickel alloy part or component. Please view the nickel alloy inventory section now or continue reading about various grades of nickel alloy below.

Nickel Alloy Grades Available at Sandmeyer Steel Company:

C276 nickel alloy is available in thicknesses from 3/16” to 2” and is a highly corrosion resistant material that is valuable in a variety of industries. Its composition of nickel, molybdenum, chromium, iron, and tungsten make it useful for welding applications because it resists intergranular attack in the heat affected zone.

A330 nickel alloy, known for resistance to carburization and oxidization in high temperatures, is available in thicknesses from 3/16” through 1”. Combining nickel, iron, and chromium, this nickel alloy is beneficial when thermal cycling and carburization is present.

A400 nickel alloy combines nickel and copper for properties that include resistance to corrosive media that range from mildly oxidizing to neutral. A400 is also used in marine and nonoxidizing chloride applications. A ductile alloy, A400 does not have high levels of strength in the annealed condition but in the cold rolled form can be very strong. It is available in thicknesses from 3/16” to 3”.

A600 nickel alloy is a combination of nickel and chromium that can be used in temperatures ranging from cryogenic up to 2000° F (1039°C). Alloy 600’s nickel content provides a high level of general and localized corrosion resistance; it is available in thicknesses from 3/16” to 2”.

A625 nickel alloy is stocked by Sandmeyer Steel Company in 3/16” to 2” and is useful in seawater, aerospace, and chemical processing applications. With an austenitic nickel base, alloy 625 can be used in cryogenic temperatures but also retains its properties in temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C).

A800/A800H/A800AT nickel alloys are available in thicknesses ranging from 3/16” to 2”. These alloys combine 32% nickel with iron and chromium to resist oxidation and carburization in elevated temperatures and also to avoid chloride stress corrosion cracking as well as embrittlement.

Regardless of the demanding applications of your industry, Sandmeyer Steel Company has the nickel alloy plate products that withstand even the most corrosive environments. Please visit the nickel alloy section to learn more about each individual alloy.
