Stainless steel plate products manufactured
by Sandmeyer Steel Company are fabricated from a wide
range of alloys. Our stainless steel plate stock comprises
the largest and most extensive single-site inventory
in North America. Below are some of the stainless steel
plate grades utilized in specific products or subsystems.
304 Stainless
Steel Plate
The properties of 304 stainless steel plate, as well
as its variations of 304L and 304H, allow it to be useful
in many products. This material is often used in food
or beverage processing equipment for its ability to
prevent contamination of the product.
410 Stainless
Steel Plate
This grade of stainless steel plate is used in varying
applications. In the medical industry, alloy 410 is
used to manufacture dental and surgical instruments,
while in the oil industry, it is used for seats, hardened
steel balls, nozzles, and valve parts in oil well pumps.
410 stainless steel plate can be used to make strainers
and separating screens in the paper and pulp industry.
316 Stainless
Steel Plate
316 stainless steel plate's properties make it resistant
to the corrosive effects of salt spray. It therefore
is useful in some marine and environmental applications.
This material also retains good strength at low temperatures
and additionally is easily fabricated, making it an
excellent choice for cryogenic applications.
The grades listed here are only a small
representation of what Sandmeyer Steel Company can provide:
we offer a wide variety of stainless
steel plate grades as well as nickel
alloy plate grades.
